The motherboard
The motherboard is the main part of the computer. It is the circuit board that is located on the base of the inside of the computer. It contains many places for connection to other parts of the computer.
Each piece of your computer is directly or indirectly connected to the motherboard. Computer parts such as the BIOS, memory, processor, network cards, video cards and sound cards are all directly connected to the motherboard.
Other computer parts such as the hard drive, cd rom, and dvd rom drives are indirectly connected to the motherboard with cables.
