BARE BONE COMPUTER SYSTEMS
It's a funny name but it can save you a lot of money, keep reading to find out more.bare bone systems
Bare bone computer systems are very popular among a select group of computer users. They are a great starting point for someone wanting to build and customize their own computer. A bare bone system comes equipped with a computer case, a motherboard and a CPU. This leaves it up to you to customize the rest of the system.
Some parts of a computer may be more important to different users. The reason behind why you are purchasing a computer will greatly determine the different level of parts you want to purchase for your bare bone system. This is the major advantage of purchasing a bare bone system instead of a complete system.
The thing to learn with bare bone systems is all the other parts of a computer system that you can customize and add. A sample list of some customizable parts include: Memory, Hard Drive, Monitor, CD Rom, DVD Rom, CD Burner, DVD Burner, Combo Drive, Scanner, Video Card, Sound Card, Network Card, Modem, Keyboard, Mouse, Printer, and Speakers.
Each component that goes into a computer can be purchased on different levels. The better the level naturally the more money the component will cost. A good example to explain a bare bone would be using two people as an example.
Jack loves to play video games on his personal computer. Many current video games require a very good video and sound card as well as a high speed processor and lots of memory.
Jill on the other hand is a college student wanting to use her personal computer for internet access, word processing and burning her favorite music to CD's. Jack could care less about music because he is too interested in the background music of his high end games.
Jack would need to purchase a bare bone system with a good processor and motherboard. He would need to add at least 1 gig of memory to the system and then purchase a top end sound and video card. He's probably going to want to add a large hard drive to the system to install large games and store saved games, etc.
Jill on the other hand would need to purchase a bare bone system with a good processor and motherboard. She wouldn't need much memory in her computer, 256 or 512 would probably be sufficient. A high end video card wouldn't be necessary but she would probably want a good sound card to play her music. A large hard drive would be good for storing music and she would want to add a good CD burner to create her CD's of music.
As you can see different people are interested in different aspects of computers. What's important for one person could be meaningless to others. This is the greatest advantage of purchasing a bare bone system and then customizing it to fit your needs and wants.
